Brantford Arts Block | ish Quill Poetry Boat
Poetry Readings, August 17th, 2010, 7 - 9 pm
Pay what You Can
A group of six Montreal poets will spend seven days descending the Grand River by canoe. Starting in Elora, they will conclude their poetic journey in Brantford on August 17th, at the Brantford Arts Block. This event is admission by donation.
Evening poetry readings, in collaboration with local poets, will explore links between poetry, the mystery of the river as a life force for the communities historically, and the connectedness to contemporary literary culture.
Poets; Linda Besner, Asa Boxer, Gabe Foreman, Leigh Kotsilidis, Daniel Renton and Joshua Trotter hope to, not only share aesthetics and voices with a diversity of poets, but also see this confluence of contemporary work and traditional travel as an occasion both to connect with the tradition of nature poetry and to question this tradition. | Contact Meg at 5197539400 for more information.
